A Rustic Gold Celebration
This year's Rustic Gold theme begins with a tablescape anchored by a simple burlap runner. It holds my collection of amber-colored Fenton candlesticks
and a few small soft-white pumpkins.
The table's centerpiece is a mixture of rustic twigs, pinecones, and berries along with glittery leaves and metallic pumpkins to give it a little bling.
Each place setting has a leaf-shaped bowl filled with rustic accents,
gold-rimmed fine china, matching chargers,
and these vintage Tetley Tea glasses found at our local Treasure Store.
The chairs were dressed with gold taffeta bows.
However, I replaced them with burlap to give the room a more rustic feel.
The Rustic Gold theme is interwoven throughout the dining room.
The mantel holds antique kerosene lanterns, brass candlesticks, and an autumn-leafed centerpiece while old cast iron frying pans hang below it.
A rusty milk can with a burlap bow sits on the fireplace's hearth.
A drop-leaf table is beside the fireplace and it serves as a coffee/dessert bar.
An identical leaf-shaped bowl and charger rest on a placemat made from husks; yet, vintage doilies provide additional texture
and gold taffeta bows accent the table's crystal candlesticks.
The Rustic Gold theme flows into the kitchen.
The tray that holds extra napkins is also made from husks and the extra dessert plates are topped with another leaf-shaped bowl filled with rustic accents.
The jelly jar that sits by the "L" on the mantel holds petals
from the first flowers my grandchildren and I picked together.
I am thankful for our family and friends and rejoice in the faith
and memories we share.
Let us remember to always be thankful and rejoice as we
celebrate the every day beauty of home!
